KaiEmTohber is an Inktober-inspired project by Kai (KairalKing/Kaithebox), Em (grazedpoem) and Tohma (monoTohma/w_gerbera), where we collectively brainstorm prompts for the monthly October challenge. Our promptlist is shared with our respective communities to encourage creative work based on the prompts for each day.
Back in 2021, 3 of us built a community of creatives and art lovers through streaming on Twitch, sharing our work on Instagram/Twitter and conventions where we would booth as a collective. As creatives ourselves, we thrive best in spaces where our work is celebrated and we're able to also celebrate others in the creative field. As such, we felt it would be cool to gather our community members together for a monthly challenge to encourage creativity and art in itself. And so, KaiEmTohber was born!
We use a dedicated hashtag for each year's challenge and share our community member's work on our respective social media pages.

I designed each poster to suit the format and audience of the platforms we were active on. I wanted the posters to reflect each of our individual styles and visual identities so our individual communities could still link the visuals to our respective 'brands'.
Kai - Red, crown/rat
Em - Teal, flowers/smileys
Tohma - Purple, eyes
Hence, elements used - colour and symbols - reflected that and were brought together into a coherent visual.
Reflections
I truly enjoy bringing together people for a project that encourages creative expression and supporting art, regardless of medium or experience level. In a world where art and creative expression is looked down upon, it is more important than ever that we create and support creators so we can all grow as individuals and artists.
Bringing together our communities for a yearly event was fun; hyping up artists in our communities and discovering new ones on social media. Creative work brings people together in the best of ways and I'm grateful to be part of the creative field.
